Halloween/Harvest Party at Church

We had our Ward party Saturday night. It turned out really nice, yet simple. It was great to be able to see members in a different light. We had a great time as a family and with our Ward family too! Logan is Tow Mator from the Disney movie Cars. On the DVD there is a short cartoon named Mator & the Ghost light, which is what he chose to be. However unless you have kids or the DVD you wouldn't know what we were talking about. The Sheriff tells a ghost story about this light & so the other cars hook a lantern to Mators tow hook to tease him & he drives around for quite awhile until he realizes that they played a joke on him. Ron rigged his coustume up with coat hangers, ribbon, & safety pins to get this mini camping lantern to hang. He loved showing his bottom off, typical for our little man!
Mr. & Mrs. Incredible: Aka Don (elders quorm president) & Janet. They were simply made for those cute home made (which I personally love) coustumes.

Our Bishop and his wife. She carried around that cat all evening.

My friend's husband and my brothers high school friend Josh. He was going to have to cut poor Spounge Bob Square Pants off, just to get out of it! He won a prize for this costume.

This is pirate Jake from pre school, his sister Maddie the relaxing spa girl, fairy Avery (Layne from pre schools older sister) and Miss America Allissa. There were some great costumes & I loved that there were no scary ones. I'm so happy with our decision to make His church our home. What a great party!

Mykell's Baby Shower

Saturday was the much anticipated Baby Shower for Mykell, that I, along with her two sisters, Traci and Stephanie had for her and baby Kade. I think it turned out great. There was definitely a full house. She had sent out 55 invitations that I had made for her.
We served soup, rolls, salad, a chocolate fondue fountain with all the fruits & treats that are usual dipping snacks. Homemade apple cider, hot chocolate, & cranberry water. With an amazing spice cake, cinnamon streusal cake, cream puffs, & assorted dessert breads. It was a feast none the less.

We had a flower arrangement made out of the same baby carriage basket that all of the kids have used. She opened presents for at least an hour there were so many.

This is her sister Traci measuring her tummy for a game we played. She went up & down instead of around. She was worried she was to big, I think she looks great considering she is due December 5th. Happy and glowing as any Mom would be.

We couldn't have thrown a better shower for such an amazing & deserving person. She is so appreciative of everything we did. I was honoured to throw her Kade's Baby Shower! I wish her now a safe & healthy delivery process. I am so blessed to have her in my life.

Pre~School Field Trip

Logan's first field trip was today, combined with the morning pre-school class. Mrs. Judan took them to the Pumpkin Patch at another Alliance church. It was absolutely wonderful. The main lady was great with the children & we went into the fields to see the different sizes, shapes etc.

This is Jake, who we car pool with, and his little brother Sam. Layne was camera shy today.

After they looked at the pumpkins they went into this huge tent where they sat on hay bales & watched a puppet show about little mice that cared for a pumpkin. It was adorable. Then they got to pick a tiny baby pumpkin to take home. Here is Logan with his (below).

The entire morning and afternoon class with Mrs. Judan from Atonement Lutheran Preschool!

After the puppet show they went inside the church & watched a movie on how a pumpkin grows from a tiny seed to the great carvable pumpkins for Halloween. Then they had pumpkin bread for a snack & made a cute little book on the same subject with real seeds, felt leaves, & crepe paper flowers. What a terrific first field trip. We ended the morning going to lunch with my friend Carrie & our car pool kiddies. Now I'm off for a little R&R right here at home.

Warms my heart

Just a short little story that warms my heart and hopefully yours as well. So its my week to drive the kiddies to pre school. I think at first, Layne, more then Jake, was a little un sure about coming with me until I mentioned that I had Dora &/or the Backyardigans Cds in my car. My new car helped too. They love the sun roof because there are basically two. Well, today, I didn't switch the CD to the kid's music, I had my Fergie CD in with her song Big Girls Don't Cry in. Layne & Logan started to sing there little hearts out with a huge grin on there rosy cheeks. After it ended I said should we hear it again, they all said yes & we were singing all the way to school. I love mornings like these, they get you through the day, the whole day. I hope, you too, enjoy life's little moments that warm the heart.

A day with my son

We had an amazing day yesterday, just mommy & son. We drove into Hamilton & had lunch at The Coffe Cup Cafe. It is nothing fancy but the food is worth the drive in it self. Then with Logan bringing it up we went to the scrapbook store there as well. He loves going to this one because there is a huge play center for the kiddies in a little white picket fence area. A scrapper's haven. Then we drove to Victor and went to Quivalls. We have gone almost every year but they have added alot.

There are four jumping castles & slides. He could have gone for hours in those alone.

Then it was off to the corn maize. My favorite part. Only now since they have all of the other attractions the maize has gone on the way side. In fact it was a Grizzly paw design this year and as we started walking we went form 1 to 2 to 10. Basically the end, either were corn maize Genesis's or something went wrong. When we got to 10, Logan said "That wasn't very fun this time, mom!"

So we went out into there great pumpkin patch. Where we actually had to pull the pumpkin from the stem to get it off. That was fun and a first for us both.

Then you can go into the arcade area, where we played games, got tickets, & got prizes. We also rode the bumper cars together & then Logan rode alone. He did awesome! What a crazy driver though.

All in all we had a terrific day & the weather was gorgeous. On the way home we stopped in Stevensville to walk the scarecrow road. The town people and business create scarecrows along a walkway by the highway into town. There were around 40 with 3 top winners. Need less to save we did so much walking that we were both exhausted. Enjoy the slideshow below. ( I got the idea from a friend/neighbor at church, thanks Carrie! Luv Luv Luv it! )

To much knowledge

So, last night Ron went to help a friend who has been re roofing his home. I was watching survivor, & Grey's anatomy ( my favorite TV night ) while Logan was sitting in front of the foot stool playing with his cell phone. When Ron & I got new phones we let Logan have my old one. Of course there is no service to it but he can take pictures, change the rings, & dial the numbers. Really he probably can do more on it then I ever could have. Anyways, all of a sudden he stands up, gives me this really funny look & hands me the phone. I see that it says 911 emergency on it. I put it to my ear & there is a real voice on the other end saying 911 emergency how can I help you? My first reaction was "LOGAN! oh, I'm so sorry, my 4 year old has been learning fire safety all week at his pre school, & I guess, he dialed, well he did dial, but we don't even have service to this phone, its our old one." Well, you can always call 911 she says. "Again, I'm so sorry, there is no emergency." So, I hang up & dial Ron from the same phone, nothing, ok she was right. So, I have to explain you only use this for a real fire, a stranger/break in, or if someone is hurt. Logan says like when I bit my tounge & was crying, no I say like when your dying. Ok I'll call only when I'm dying. Well, it was quite comical, afterwards, but now I'm re thinking that maybe we gave him a phone to early. I'll have to tell his teacher on Monday that he sure did listen at school this last week, go figure!

He Colors My World

After pre school Logan & I went to Greenough Park for a walk in the glory of Fall. We usually go as a family for pictures, but Ron has been working so much that we haven't had the chance & I at least wanted to get my boy in the wonder & beauty of the season. As we were walking two older men passed by & said that there was a bear spotted there just a few days prior. So, with news like that, we ended our nature walk a little early, but I was still able to catch all of the colors of the day in my son's eyes.
